Job description

John Anthony Wine & Spirits is a high-growth, privately owned company headquartered in downtown Napa, CA. Our portfolio includes Butter Wines—the brand that disrupted the wine aisle with quality, simplicity, and affordability—best known for its Butter Chardonnay, the #1 best-selling Premium Chardonnay SKU and a multi-year Hot Brand and Blue Chip Brand award winner. The portfolio also includes JaM Cellars, John Anthony Vineyards, Serial Wines, Weather Wines, and a growing presence in sake and spirits. Built on four core pillars—authenticity, craftsmanship, “Great Flavor First,” and innovation—John Anthony continues to expand into key growth sectors while anticipating where consumers are headed next.

We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator to support consumer and brand marketing across the John Anthony Wine & Spirits portfolio, with a primary focus on Butter Wines—our largest and most dynamic brand. Reporting to the Brand Manager responsible for Butter Wines and additional portfolio brands, this role also partners closely with Brand Managers across the organization to bring consumer programs to life across paid, owned, earned, and shared channels. From seasonal campaigns and brand partnerships to innovation launches and line extensions, this position will play an important role in the portfolio’s next phase of growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized, hands-on marketer to build broad experience across nationally distributed consumer brands and grow their marketing career.

Consumer Marketing & Brand Activation

  • Support Brand Managers in translating annual brand objectives into national consumer programs that build awareness, engagement, and consumer demand across retail and on-premise channels.
  • Coordinate evergreen and integrated seasonal campaigns, brand partnerships, new product launches, and line extensions, managing execution across consumer channels while aligning with Trade and DTC marketing.
  • Coordinate consumer sweepstakes and event activations, including sponsorships, sampling, on-site brand presence, and post-program recaps.
  • Guide the PR agency partner in executing earned media plans aligned with brand priorities, including evergreen pitching, campaign support, affiliate marketing and media samples.

Owned & Digital Brand Discovery

  • Develop content and updates across brand websites, blogs, and other owned digital touchpoints.
  • Support consumer email newsletters, including content development, audience, sending, and reporting.
  • Implement SEO and AI search optimization best practices to improve brand visibility and discovery.
  • Coordinate paid search, paid social, and other digital advertising focused on building awareness, engagement, and brand discovery.
  • Monitor results and recommend optimizations to strengthen content, targeting, and investment.

Social Media, Content & Community

  • Own social content calendars and day-to-day publishing across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, as well as additional platforms relevant to each brand, including YouTube, Pinterest, and emerging channels.
  • Brainstorm and develop content for campaigns, launches, partnerships, and evergreen programming, working with Creative to produce timely, trend-driven, and lo-fi content that keeps brands relevant.
  • Support influencer, UGC, and content creator programs, including strategy, brief development, partner research, outreach, deliverable coordination, and performance tracking.
  • Coordinate photo and video shoots, including shot lists, products, props, talent, schedules, and asset organization.
  • Lead social listening and community engagement, managing consumer inquiries across brand email, social media, and text and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Track social and content performance and use results to inform future planning.

Marketing Operations & Measurement

  • Maintain integrated marketing calendars, project timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional communication.
  • Coordinate with marketing counterparts across Trade and DTC, along with Creative and Sales partners, to keep consumer initiatives aligned and moving forward.
  • Support annual marketing planning and execution against brand objectives.
  • Track budgets, invoices, agency expenses, and campaign investments.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly brand reports and maintain organized campaign recaps and performance results.
  • Take on additional responsibilities based on evolving business needs.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of marketing experience; experience in CPG, beverage alcohol, or an adjacent consumer category is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational, project management, communication, and creative writing skills.
  • Passion for social media and content creation, with a strong understanding of current platforms, trends, and consumer behavior.
  • Hands-on experience with social media, content, email, website, or digital advertising programs and working knowledge of tools such as Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager, WordPress, and Google Analytics.
  • Comfort using data and channel reporting to evaluate results and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborative, resourceful, and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple brands, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Location & Travel

  • Full-time, onsite in Napa, CA. Our in-person environment enables faster decision-making, stronger cross-functional alignment, and a culture built on collaboration.
  • Occasional travel to support brand events, content creation, partnerships, and in-market activations.

Compensation

The expected starting salary range for this role is $71,000–$85,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and business needs. This role is also eligible for bonus potential and world-class benefits.
