Job description

Content Strategy Specialist

DoStuff is looking for a dynamic, organized, and culturally tuned-in Content Strategy Specialist to lead the charge in creating and executing digital content that drives audience engagement and partner success. This role bridges editorial vision with campaign execution, ensuring our newsletters, websites, and digital media campaigns are vibrant, engaging, and aligned with both local culture and partner goals.

You'll own the daily newsletter and content calendar, coordinate with clients and internal teams on digital campaigns, and represent the voice of the local scene through sharp copywriting and community connection. If you're as comfortable writing compelling email copy as you are managing a media campaign from end to end, this is the creative-operations role for you.

This is a full-time position based in Seattle, offering a total compensation package of $66,000 to $68,200, depending on experience.

What You'll Do:

Newsletter & Editorial

  • Own and write the daily email newsletterโ€”curate and create engaging short-form content featuring the best events, experiences, and promotions.
  • Grow and manage the newsletter listโ€”optimize for engagement through testing, performance metrics, and best practices.
  • Maintain editorial consistency and tone across platformsโ€”ensuring quality and brand alignment.
  • Build and manage a network of contributors to cover niche and mainstream cultural content (music, food, arts, etc.).

Campaign Coordination

  • Execute and project-manage paid digital campaignsโ€”aligning with sales and accounts teams to deliver high-performing content.
  • Write and oversee campaign copy (email, web, social) that reflects both client goals and DoStuff's tone.
  • Manage campaign timelines, track assets, and coordinate cross-functional tasks between internal teams and clients.
  • Monitor campaign performance, generate post-campaign reports, and ensure renewal opportunities are captured.

Content & Platform Management

  • Maintain a high-quality websiteโ€”Curate and manage local event listings, venue and artist pages on our website.
  • Ensure timely, relevant, and accurate content across all of our channels (website, email, social)
  • Manage social media channelsโ€”creating content, engaging with followers, and ensuring our creator network is pushing out the appropriate amount of content to keep our channels active and engaged.
  • Execute sponsored contentโ€”integrating partner promotions naturally into our newsletters and website and track the performance.

Community & Social Engagement

  • Collaborate with local venues, promoters, and brands for partnerships, giveaways, ticket inventory, and exclusive content.
  • Manage social media presence with editorial alignmentโ€”engaging content and community touchpoints.
  • Respond to user & partner inquiries and foster a positive experience across platforms.

What We're Looking For:

  • A natural storyteller and editorโ€”crafting compelling short-form content with clarity and voice.
  • Obsessed with newsletters, digital culture, and local events.
  • Organized and proactiveโ€”adept at managing timelines, stakeholders, and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A confident communicatorโ€”can synthesize information quickly and relay it with clarity (via email, Slack, phone).
  • Knowledgeable about your city's event landscapeโ€”venues, festivals, nightlife, and more.

Bonus Points If You:

  • Use DoXYZ regularly or have worked in the music/entertainment industry.
  • Have experience growing newsletter audiences or managing digital campaigns.
  • Are active on social media or have a portfolio of editorial work.
  • Have knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, or email performance optimization.

DoStuff's mission is to get people to attend more live events. It makes them happier and local entertainment scenes stronger. We're committed to driving success for our users, our partners, and ourselves. Our valuesโ€”ownership, trust, optimism, curiosity, enjoyment, and a touch of crazinessโ€”fuel our ambition to become the largest driver of event attendees in the world. We believe in tackling challenges head-on, never giving up, and working together to build innovative solutions.

DoStuff operates 22 local event guides (DoNYC, Do312, DoLA, etc.) and a Ticket Membership that drives millions of event attendees annually. Our local teams make us a trusted part of the local scene, and our tech platform ensures we're introducing people to the best events in their city.

Interested? Send your resume to jobs@dostuffmedia.com and tell us why you'd be the perfect fit for the role.

Plus, a quick challenge: Write a short, compelling blurb about an upcoming event in your city that would make us want to go. Think of it as a bite-sized newsletter teaserโ€”clear, engaging, and with a little personality.
