What jobs will no longer exist in 2030?

However, human moderators will still be needed for complex judgment calls, policy enforcement, and managing nuanced content that AI cannot fully interpret.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Content Moderator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Content Moderator, you need strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and a good understanding of community guidelines, often supported by a relevant degree or prior moderation experience. Familiarity with content management systems, moderation tools, and automated filtering technologies is typically required. Excellent communication, resilience, and the ability to handle sensitive material with discretion are vital soft skills for this role. These skills ensure that online communities remain safe, respectful, and compliant with platform policies.

Why is Gen Z struggling to get jobs?

Gen Z faces challenges in securing jobs due to high competition, limited work experience, and evolving employer expectations for digital literacy and adaptability. Entry-level roles like content moderation often require specific skills such as attention to detail and familiarity with online platforms, which can be barriers for new job seekers in this age group.

What is the job role of a content moderator?

A content moderator reviews and monitors user-generated content on online platforms to ensure it complies with community guidelines and policies. They identify and remove inappropriate, harmful, or illegal content, often using moderation tools and working within a set schedule to maintain a safe online environment.

Work EnvironmentOnline platforms, social media, forums, and websitesOnline or remote settings, reviewing user-generated content
Employer & IndustryTech companies, social media platforms, online marketplacesMedia companies, social media firms, content platforms
Search & Comparison IntentHigh overlap; both roles involve reviewing and moderating content

Content Moderators and Content Reviewers perform similar roles in managing online content, ensuring compliance with platform policies. While their titles may differ, both require attention to detail, familiarity with content guidelines, and often similar work environments. The main difference lies in terminology used by employers, but their responsibilities and skills are closely aligned.

How can I make 2000 a week working from home?

A content moderator can potentially earn $2,000 a week by working full-time, especially if they handle high-volume or specialized content, and if the role offers overtime or bonuses. Developing skills in content review tools, maintaining consistent schedules, and gaining experience can help increase earnings, but most roles pay hourly or per task rates that may require significant hours to reach this income level.

What are some common challenges faced by content moderators, and how can they be managed effectively?

Content moderation often involves reviewing large volumes of user-generated content, some of which may be graphic or emotionally challenging. This can lead to stress or fatigue, so employers typically offer mental health support and regular breaks to help moderators manage. Additionally, content moderators work closely with clear guidelines and escalation procedures to ensure consistent decisions and support from team leads. Building resilience and using available resources are key to thriving in this role.

What are Content Moderators?

Content Moderators are professionals responsible for reviewing and monitoring user-generated content on websites, social media platforms, and forums to ensure it complies with community guidelines and legal requirements. They evaluate text, images, videos, and other media for inappropriate, offensive, or harmful material, removing or reporting content that violates policies. Content Moderators play a crucial role in maintaining safe and respectful online environments, often working in teams and using specialized tools or software. Their work helps prevent the spread of misinformation, hate speech, and other problematic content online.

Job description

MX is a fintech company on a mission to empower the world to be financially strong. We build technology that helps banks, credit unions, and fintechs deliver smarter, more intuitive financial experiences to millions of people.
Like many startups, we've navigated real growth challenges - and we've come out stronger on the other side. Today, MX is in a phase ofrenewed momentum and scale, with a solid foundation and a clear vision for what's next. This is a place where thoughtful execution matters, innovation is encouraged, and individuals have real ownership over their work.
Our culture values curiosity, accountability, and impact. We give people the space to question assumptions, design better solutions, and help shape how the company grows. If you're looking to do meaningful work, influence outcomes, and grow alongside a company that's ready to move fast, you'll feel at home at MX.
MX is looking for a Content Writer to lead the creation of high-impact content that shapes how the financial services and fintech world understands the power of financial data. You bring deep expertise in B2B storytelling, a sharp editorial instinct, and the strategic vision to connect content to revenue outcomes.
What sets this role apart is an opportunity to help define how MX scales its voice - not just by writing more, but by writing smarter. You'll play a central role in developing and stewarding AI-assisted content workflows that keep our product messaging consistent, on-brand, and efficient across a growing volume of channels and campaigns. You'll be both a master practitioner and a multiplier: someone who raises the quality floor for everyone around you.
If you're a seasoned writer who's energized by the intersection of great storytelling and intelligent systems - and who thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment - this role is built for you.
Job Duties
Content Strategy & Creation
  • Lead the development of long-form thought leadership, including whitepapers, research reports, executive bylines, and in-depth blogs that establish MX as a definitive voice in fintech
  • Own end-to-end content for 5+ major demand generation campaigns per year, from brief to post-launch optimization
  • Produce 3+ high-impact customer or partner stories per quarter through case studies, press releases, and media-ready narratives
  • Partner with Product Marketing to translate complex product positioning into compelling, audience-appropriate content across the funnel

AI-Assisted Messaging & Workflow Automation
  • Develop and maintain a library of AI-ready product messaging prompts, templates, and guardrails that enable the content team to produce on-brand material faster and more consistently
  • Implement and iterate on AI-assisted content workflows (using tools such as Gemini, Claude, or similar) to accelerate first-draft production, repurposing, and messaging QA
  • Establish messaging consistency standards that can be operationalized through prompt engineering, style guides embedded in AI tools, and structured content templates
  • Partner with Marketing Operations to evaluate, adopt, and optimize AI content tooling as part of MX's broader marketing stack

Quality, Brand & Editorial Standards Cross-Functional Leadership & Mentorship
  • Serve as a senior editorial voice and quality gatekeeper across all external-facing content, ensuring brand consistency in tone, terminology, and messaging hierarchy
  • Lead copy editing and messaging reviews on high-visibility materials, including website copy, sales resources, and executive communications
  • Maintain and evolve the MX content style guide in collaboration with the broader marketing team
  • Mentor junior and mid-level content writers, providing substantive editorial feedback and coaching on craft, structure, and strategic framing
  • Act as a senior content partner to Demand Gen, Product Marketing, PR, and Social - capable of scoping, advising, and executing across all content types
  • Contribute to content planning processes, including editorial calendar ownership, capacity planning, and campaign prioritization
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in B2B content marketing, content strategy, or a related field; fintech or financial services experience strongly preferred
  • A portfolio that demonstrates range - long-form thought leadership, campaign content, and product-oriented copy - alongside evidence of strategic ownership, not just execution
  • Hands-on experience designing and using AI-assisted content workflows; comfort with prompt engineering and translating brand voice into AI tooling inputs
  • Exceptionally strong written communication skills with a proven ability to simplify complex technical or financial concepts for varied audiences
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced B2B SaaS or fintech environment
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate the work of peers and junior team members
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices, CMS platforms, and content performance analytics

At MX, we are a high-performance organization that thrives on trust and results. This role is based in Lehi, Utah. We believe in empowering our team members to deliver exceptional outcomes while taking advantage of our incredible office space when it best supports their work. Our Utah office features onsite perks such as company-paid meals, a sports simulator, gym, mother's lounge, and meditation room and meaningful interactions with amazing people. We encourage team members to come together in the office to collaborate, kick off key projects, or strategize cross-functionally, fostering connection and innovation.
