Job description

About Userpilot

Userpilot is a fast-growing B2B SaaS platform empowering companies to deliver exceptional in-app user experiences, driving user onboarding, engagement, and product-led growth. With a rapidly growing global customer base, we're transforming how digital products engage with users across multiple channels.

We're looking for an innovative and versatile Content Marketing Manager to craft high-impact content tailored specifically for our diverse customer personas.

The Role

We are looking for a Content Marketing Manager who is, first and foremost, an exceptional original writer. Someone who can take a complex product space and turn it into clear, opinionated content that gets read, cited, and shared by the people we want to reach.

You will own the editorial side of our content engine: the voice, the long-form assets that anchor our authority, the original research, and the supporting content that fuels demand generation and ABM. You will partner closely with our SEO team (who owns keyword strategy, topical authority, and technical SEO), as well as with designers, video producers, and freelancers, but the original thinking and writing will come from you.

This role is for someone who believes the best B2B content is built on real points of view, real data, and real expertise, not AI-generated filler.

Key Responsibilities

Original Content Production

  • Write the highest-impact assets at Userpilot: pillar articles, industry reports, benchmark studies, ebooks, courses, playbooks, and thought leadership essays.
  • Develop a clear editorial voice and POV that makes Userpilot recognizable across formats and channels.
  • Turn product and customer insights into original research and proprietary data that the rest of the category will want to cite.

Search and AI Discoverability (in partnership with SEO)

  • Work alongside the SEO team to turn keyword and topic briefs into best-in-class content that actually ranks and earns links.
  • Apply GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) best practices in your writing so Userpilot content gets cited inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.
  • Collaborate on content refreshes, on-page improvements, and topical authority plays that the SEO team prioritizes.
  • Care about the metrics: ranking position, citation share, AI mention frequency, and organic-sourced pipeline, even though the SEO team owns the strategy.

Demand and ABM Support

  • Produce written assets that fuel paid distribution: landing pages, ad copy variants, ABM one-pagers, sequenced email content, and persona-specific narratives.
  • Work with the Demand Gen team to make sure every flagship asset is built with distribution in mind from day one.

Distribution and Repurposing

  • Repackage long-form work into LinkedIn posts, newsletters, ad creative, and short videos in collaboration with designers and video producers.
  • Plan and produce webinars and interviews with industry thought leaders to extend the reach of our written content.
  • Manage relationships with freelance writers, editors, and contributors as the content engine scales.

Requirements

Essential

  • 3 to 5 years of B2B SaaS content marketing experience, ideally targeting mid-market or enterprise buyers. Please share writing samples and links to content you have produced.
  • Exceptional original writing ability. You can write in a clear, opinionated voice and turn dry topics into something people actually want to read.
  • A track record of writing content that ranks. You can show specific pieces you produced that drove qualified organic traffic and pipeline, and you understand SEO well enough to be a strong partner to a dedicated SEO team (you do not need to own strategy, but you do need to speak the language).
  • Working knowledge of GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and how content earns citations and mentions inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. Real experience optimizing writing for AI surfaces is a strong plus.
  • Strong editorial judgment. You know what to write, what to kill, and how to brief contributors.
  • Comfort with original research: surveys, benchmarks, data partnerships, and interviews.
  • Collaborative mindset across design, video, growth, and product marketing.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with the product management, product analytics, PLG, or user engagement and experience space.
  • Experience building or contributing to a recognizable personal brand or company editorial presence (newsletter, podcast, or category-defining content series).
  • Comfort on camera or willingness to occasionally host webinars and interviews, though this is supportive of the written work, not the core of the role.
  • Experience with HubSpot, Ahrefs, Semrush, Clearscope, or similar tooling.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and growth-based bonus opportunities
  • Top-notch, well-resourced team, including Marketing Operations (MOps) and Revenue Operations (RevOps)
  • Opportunities to attend international conferences and team off-sites
  • Generous education budget for professional development and certifications
  • Hybrid structure: 3 days in office (in our Austin office), 2 remote
