Audience Engagement Manager, RedPoint Media


RedPoint Media is seeking an Audience Engagement Manager for a part-time contract position based in Calgary. This position will start immediately. RedPoint Media has a hybrid office setup offering employees the opportunity to work from home or from the co-working space at CSpace Marda Loop. Regular in-person team meetings and attendance at events are required. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

the opportunity
The role of Audience Engagement Manager acts as a bridge between digital editorial and production to increase reader engagement. 


As Audience Engagement Manager, you will:

  • lead digital engagement content strategy and creation, ensuring editorial quality across all digital platforms to enhance audience and advertiser interest 
  • track audience analytics and identify goals for engagement growth, providing regular reporting to the VP and President.
  • create, implement and manage new engagement strategies for all cross-platform programs 
  • lead and implement a growth strategy for newsletter audiences
  • Implement engagement growth strategies and tactics for existing brands from start to finish, such as Top 40 Under 40 and Best Restaurants for Avenue and the Scene Calendar and Scenester awards
  • manage social media channels, posting and engaging with audiences
  • manage Second Street, including growing audiences in polls, ballots and brackets and work collaboratively to increase contesting engagement
  • work collaboratively with the Content Studio and Production teams to brainstorm and create new sponsored content offerings
  • complete other duties as required

As the Audience Engagement Manager, you are passionate about creating, optimizing, and distributing digital content to grow and interact with online audiences. You blend editorial judgment with digital marketing, overseeing social media, community management, and analytics. You have the expertise to edit copy for digital platforms and analyze performance data, shaping stories for maximum audience impact. You have experience providing feedback to editors and can create compelling proposals for new strategies and programming. You can work efficiently under deadline pressure and are a collaborative team player. Our team does a lot with a little and you are excited to be part of that energy.


You have:

  • demonstrated experience creating an audience strategy and fulfilling its KPIs
  • strong project management, excellent communication and editing skills, and the ability to interpret data trends quickly
  • experience in digital media, audience development, or digital marketing
  • proficiency with WordPress and MailChimp, basic HTML, social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social), and web analytics platforms like Google Analytics
  • experience collaborating with editors, graphic designers and art directors to ensure engagement goals are being met
  • strong and informed ideas on how to increase engagement and the ability to present these ideas to the senior leadership team
