Our Marketing team is growing!

We're seeking a talented and creative Content Specialist to join our team for a 12-month temporary opportunity. As a Content Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping our brand's online presence and thought leadership position by creating engaging and relevant content across various platforms. The Content Specialist will report to the Team Manager, Content, to support the execution of the content strategy. They are responsible for planning, writing, editing and distributing (to stakeholders) relevant external content based on our objectives and our customers' needs, ensuring the content aligns with the overall marketing and business goals. They play a critical role in supporting the marketing team in driving content strategy in support of brand awareness and lead generation working in collaboration with portfolio marketing managers, advertising and channel integration, brand and digital experience teams.

This role will have you working in a hybrid work style arrangement. While you may be working remotely most of the time, there will be ample opportunity for face-to-face interactions, external and in-office meetings, team events and other meaningful connections.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

  • Collaborate with design, marketing and digital teams to ideate and define content goals.

  • Support content planning and strategy:

    • Implement integrated, audience driven content strategies, ensuring relevance and consistency with the overall content mission.

    • Assuming responsibilities as a project manager on some projects (responsible for obtaining approvals and execution of deliverables).

    • Content research and creation and/or curation.

    • Working with a variety of business stakeholders to identify business goals, content objectives, target audiences and expected results. Including arranging stakeholder engagement meetings and SME interviews and regular check ins/touchpoints with business unit leader to ensure continued alignment and timely project delivery.

    • Intelligence gathering to write for a variety of mediums - including thought leadership, newsletters, standalone client communication, blog posts, reports, advertorials/sponsored content, promotional materials, advertisements, video or radio scripts, website landing pages/portals/surveys, social media, etc.

    • Responsible for maintaining the functional flow of content as an asset throughout the business (adhering to governance and workflows).

  • Content creation and optimization:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders from across the business including marketing, digital experience, product and wellness to craft content on a variety of topics for various audiences to deliver content that is consistent with our brand voice.

    • SEO and keyword strategy to improve organic visibility and drive traffic. (Conduct keyword research, monitors SEO performance and implements on-page and off-page SEO strategies)

  • Quality assurance and brand alignment

    • Editing, proofreading and fact checking to ensure brand and style guidelines are adhered to and tone of voice aligns with specific audience.

  • Content delivery and measurement.

    • Consult with Team Manager to ensure content delivery plan is in alignment with overarching content strategy.

    • Involved in ensuring content measurement to support enhancement and optimizations.

    • Management/operation of the CMS, the implementation web analytics, or data-related structures that provide management of audiences

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or a related field.

  • Minimum of three years in content creation, copywriting or communications.

  • A diverse portfolio demonstrating a passion for your work

  • Technical Skills:

    • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Joomla).

    • Proficiency in content and layout design tools (e.g., Adobe InCopy, InDesign).

    • Strong computer skills (MS Office).

  • Content Knowledge:

    • Understand various content platforms (blogs, long-form content, social media, print media).

    • Knowledge of content best practices.

  • Communication Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication.

    • Ability to adapt to changing content trends and technology.
