Job Description
The purpose of this job is to lead a team responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning solutions that support employee performance and organizational objectives. This role oversees instructional design operations, including team leadership, project prioritization, learning governance, development processes, and quality standards, ensuring learning solutions are effective, scalable, and aligned with business needs. Working closely with business partners and learning stakeholders, this role applies performance consulting practices to identify performance needs, recommend learning and performance solutions, and develop learning strategies that deliver measurable business results.
A successful candidate combines strong people leadership, instructional design expertise, and business acumen to build team capability, optimize processes, and deliver high-quality learning solutions that improve performance, support operational priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
  1. Provide direct oversight of the enterprise's centralized instructional design team; lead, coach, train, and develop direct reports to include appraising job performance and conducting performance reviews
  2. Manage team priorities, workload, resources, and project portfolios to ensure timely delivery of learning solutions that support business and departmental objectives
  3. Guide the application of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and performance consulting practices to address organizational performance needs
  4. Establish and continuously improve instructional design processes, quality standards, and learning governance to ensure consistent, scalable, and effective learning solutions
  5. Oversee the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning programs, curricula, and performance support resources
  6. Manage learning operations, including oversight of the learning management system (LMS), learning analytics, reporting, course evaluations, and continuous improvement efforts
  7. Partner with business leaders, learning teams, and stakeholders to identify performance gaps, recommend learning strategies, and resolve learning, performance, and operational challenges
  8. Evaluate and implement learning technologies, delivery methods, and digital learning solutions that enhance learner engagement, accessibility, and business impact
  9. Manage relationships with external vendors, content providers, and regulatory partners to ensure quality, compliance, and alignment with organizational standards
  10. Monitor learning effectiveness, business outcomes, and team performance to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate the impact of learning initiatives

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
    • Preferred: Master's Degree or Equivalent
  • Experience Required: 8+ years of progressive experience in instructional design and learning solutions, including leadership experience
