Summary of the Role:

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Marketing & Communications, the Manager, Digital Content & Web Production is a driver of Wentworth's digital presence, ensuring our website has engaging content, enhanced SEO, and a seamless user experience. The person in this role will act as the project manager for the website team, turning marketing goals into digital reality. In addition to daily operations, this individual will be involved in a website refresh and serve as a critical link between Wentworth and our design and development agency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Production & CMS Management

  • Daily Production & Deployment: Act as the "hands-on" expert for the Drupal CMS, managing content calendars, writing copy, building page layouts (including selecting assets and components), and ensuring error-free deployment.

  • Collaborative Management: Partner with stakeholders across campus departments to proactively manage the content and feature request queue.

  • Strategic Writing: Draft and edit SEO-tested copy for the main site and subsites, optimizing for users, search engines, and agentic search.

  • Design & Layout: Apply a keen eye for layout and digital design principles to ensure the site is optimized for both mobile responsiveness and visual impact. Act as core contributor to upcoming web refresh, ensuring new site components adhere to modern UX/UI standards and brand consistency.

  • Campaign Collaboration: Work closely with Sr. Marketing Manager to enhance digital marketing campaigns across platforms.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all updates meet brand standards, mobile responsiveness, UX best practices, and WCAG accessibility compliance.

  • Site Performance: Use Siteimprove and other reporting tools to identify performance issues, coordinating with full-stack agency and front-end developer for resolutions.

2. Project & Team Coordination

  • Project Traffic Control & Workflow Management: Oversee the intake of web requests from the broader university, prioritizing tasks based on business impact and technical urgency.

  • Technical Guidance: Provide guidance and training to university stakeholders to help them understand what's possible within our current web architecture.

  • Technical Liaison: Serve as the daily point of contact for the external full-stack agency and collaborate internally with the front-end developer.

3. Performance & Optimization

  • SEO/AEO: Apply best practices for on-page SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), including meta-tags, schema, and keyword placement.

  • Analytics & Reporting: Monitor and share regular reports on site health, traffic trends, and user behavior using GA4 and other tracking tools.

  • Proactive Maintenance: Identify and resolve technical issues, such as broken links or slow-loading assets, to maintain a premium user experience.

Required Qualifications:

Required experience is what someone must have, at a minimum, to be considered for the position. Specify the minimum education, experience, and skills needed for the role.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5-7 years in web production, digital project management, or content strategy.

  • Writing: Ability to write compelling copy tailored to specific audiences and campaign goals.

  • Layout Skills: A keen eye for layout and an understanding of modern digital design principles.

  • CMS Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Drupal (preferred), Wordpress, Hubspot, or similar enterprise-grade CMS.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of HTML and CSS is preferred.

  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex workflows using tools like Jira or HubSpot.

  • SEO & Analytics: Proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, Google Tag Manager, and SEO platforms (e.g., SEMrush, Moz, or SERanking).

  • Content & Design: Exceptional writing skills for diverse audiences and a keen eye for modern digital design principles.

  • Communication: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical colleagues with clarity and patience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Higher Education marketing and stakeholder management.

  • Formal training or certification in Web/Digital Accessibility.

  • Experience with Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch to better collaborate with designers during the web refresh and interpret wireframes

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid position with two days per week in the office aligned with the team.

Position Details:

The job grade for this position is Grade9.

The expected wage range for this position is between $90,000.00 and $113,000.00 which reflects what wereasonably expectto pay for this role.
