The ideal candidate will pioneer approaches for online conversation and community engagement. You will identify and advance conversations generated by KSL; create a culture of collaboration, connecting our station's voice with our most influential listeners; and collaborate with news, programming and promotions. Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.This position is a hybrid role that requires the employee to sometimes work at our Salt Lake City site. Specific hybrid schedules will be determined based on business needs and evaluated by managers and senior management.What You Will Do: Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:Responsible for working in conjunction with News and programming to consistently manage content published on KSL's platforms.Deep understanding of station brand to appropriately publish contentWrite breaking news stories as neededCommunicate clearly with the newsroom teamEdit photos, graphics, videos, audio clips and text using appropriate editing toolsOptimize story performance using various analytical toolsMaintain careful documentation of story day planning and publishing schedulesParticipate in station's digital marketing efforts, as well as staying on top of trending digital developmentsVideo switching and editing capabilitiesCreate content for use on web/social only platformsOther duties as assignedSkills and Experience We Are Looking For: College degree in journalism or related field. If no degree, 1-2 years of digital project experienceAbility to write clear, conversational and accurate content in AP styleAbility to work under pressure and on deadlineAbility to work well with others on a teamDetail-oriented in reviewing contentA passion for the newsPrefer experience working in graphic design, using Photoshop, Illustrator and Final Cut ProPrefer 2+ years successful experience working in social media, with a deep understanding of social media techniques and toolsAbility to research and implement new social media practices a significant plus, specifically experience with Facebook and Twitter ads and analyticsFlexible personality in order to connect news, programming and promotionsSelf-motivated, creative individual who can also organize and consistently display good judgementCapable of performing under stress while meeting company deadlines and needsExcellent communication abilitiesCapable of managing multiple projects in various stages of the project life cyclePhysical Demands Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectivelySubstantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingersCompensation $18.00 - $22.00 an hour.
