Technical writers make Stripe products easy to use for developers and everyday users. Our documentation must exemplify quality and instill trust.

We need writers with excellent writing ability and solid technical competence to provide an engaging developer experience.

What you'll do

You'll join the Stripe Docs Content team to help users adopt our industry-leading technologies, and to help Stripe product teams ship exemplary documentation at docs.stripe.com.

Responsibilities
  • Document Stripe products, including conceptual overviews, task-based guides, APIs, and tutorials for different products
  • Maintain content quality through curation, user feedback, and content performance analysis
  • Work alongside our developers, product teams, and support engineers to ensure content expertise and documentation accuracy
  • Deliver results in a dynamic work environment with plenty of autonomy
  • Push Stripe docs forward by dreaming up and implementing new ways to deliver, author, analyze, and interact with technical content
Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements
  • 4+ years of technical writing experience
  • Able to collaborate, partner with, and learn from other skilled tech writers
  • Proficient in HTML and Markdown
  • Conversant with Git and VSCode
  • Adept at communicating technical concepts clearly and precisely
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with backend languages like Ruby, Go, Python, PHP, Node, or Java
  • Experience with large information architecture projects
  • Experience balancing multiple product launches
  • Experience working with a team of technical writers
