Position Profile

Weaver's marketing team seeks a Content Manager, who will develop compelling content that articulates Weaverโ€™s deep knowledge and expertise, as well as the firmโ€™s service capabilities, success stories, brand and culture. This manager will plan, draft, edit and in some cases do research on a variety of content topics and issues for crossโ€‘channel marketing purposes. In addition to writing blogs and a variety of other content for the firmโ€™s website, this team member will write and edit content for marketing collateral, social media, email and other marketing channels and deliverables, as needed. This person will lead and manage direct reports and others on the marketing team to produce quality content in a timely manner and monitor its effectiveness. This person will also guide and manage direct reports to do their best work and achieve their professional and personal goals. Additional responsibilities include developing and overseeing a content governance framework and managing content sprints and an overall editorial calendar, working with marketing team members and stakeholders firm wide. Experience with website user experience, SEO/AEO/GEO principles and keyword research is preferred.

As a Content Manager, you bring a passion for transforming raw ideas and draft content into clear, persuasive, informative communications. You are comfortable interviewing executives and other team members, reviewing existing material and conducting research to gain an understanding of the topic or issue and formulate outlines. You are also comfortable providing candid feedback and clear guidance to stakeholders when we need them to spend more time on first drafts to improve certain aspects and better prepare content for our team to work with. A friendly, positive person, you bring energy and enthusiasm to your work, along with the ability to develop congenial, collaborative relationships both inside and outside the marketing team. You are a strong project manager, well organized, able to juggle many assignments at once, attentive to detail and deadlines, and able to keep others informed of your progress or roadblocks. You manage assignments and quality assurance reviews of Weaverโ€™s content team, which can include outsourced writers. Finally, you are a problemโ€‘solver, able to identify and implement solutions to a wide variety of issues, both technical and interpersonal, to meet the marketing teamโ€™s and the firmโ€™s goals.

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in English, marketing, communications, technical writing or related discipline
  • 8+ years of writing or marketing communications experience
  • Excellent writing skills with demonstrated ability to create original content and edit the work of others to meet different needs
  • Impeccable proofreading and editing ability
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, presentation and public speaking communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work and interact effectively with partners, directors and senior managers, as well as executive leadership and marketing teammates
  • Independence and the ability to operate without direction in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity, while remaining in close communication with teammates and stakeholders
  • Commitment to maintaining and continuously improving knowledge of the firm and its service offerings, as well as best practices in marketing communications
  • Ability to use excellent judgment, handle confidential information appropriately and display a professional demeanor
