Job description

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Yard Foreman to oversee daily operations at our scrap and recycling yard. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and hands-on experience in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Key Tasks Include:

  • Supervise and manage day-to-day yard operations
  • Lead and direct yard employees to ensure efficiency and safety
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing materials (scrap metal, recycling, etc.)
  • Operate and oversee use of equipment (skid steers, excavators, forklifts, etc.)
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the yard
  • Enforce safety procedures and company policies
  • Assist customers and ensure excellent service
  • Coordinate loading/unloading of trucks and containers
  • Track inventory and report any discrepancies

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in scrap, recycling, construction, or similar industry preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong work ethic and reliability (must show up and lead by example)
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions year-round
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
