Sales Manager - Hydraulics & Containers
Position Summary
The Sales Manager - Hydraulics & Containers is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and developing strong customer relationships for hydraulic repair services, hydraulic components, fabricated hydraulic systems, mobile hydraulic services, and container sales and service operations. This position serves as a key leader in identifying new business opportunities, managing customer accounts, and supporting strategic growth initiatives across the company's service territory.
The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional with strong industry knowledge, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to generate new business while maintaining long-term customer partnerships. This role requires regular travel to customer locations, industry events, and company facilities.
Responsibilities
  • Sales & Business Development
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue and profitability for hydraulic and container divisions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within municipal, commercial, industrial, transportation, construction, waste, towing, and manufacturing markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and purchasing contacts.
  • Conduct customer visits, facility tours, and sales presentations.
  • Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and service agreements.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts while maintaining company profit objectives.

Customer Relationship Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve concerns professionally.
  • Collaborate with operations and service teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Conduct regular account reviews to identify growth opportunities.
  • Hydraulic Sales
  • Promote hydraulic repair services, cylinder repair, hose fabrication, mobile hydraulic services, hydraulic power units, and component sales.
  • Work closely with technicians and service personnel to understand customer requirements and recommend solutions.
  • Develop opportunities for preventative maintenance programs and fleet support services.

Container Sales & Service
  • Generate sales opportunities for container sales, repairs, modifications, and related services.
  • Build relationships with waste management, recycling, construction, and industrial customers.
  • Identify opportunities for long-term service agreements and fleet expansion.
  • Marketing & Industry Engagement
  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer events, and industry associations.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives that promote company services and capabilities.
  • Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to support strategic planning.
  • Reporting & Performance Management
  • Maintain accurate customer records, opportunities, and sales activities within the CRM system.

Track and report:
  • New customer acquisition
  • Revenue growth
  • Sales pipeline value
  • Quote-to-sale conversion rates
  • Customer retention metrics
  • Gross profit performance
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and activity reports to leadership.

Administrative Duties
  • Maintain sales documentation and customer correspondence.
  • Participate in sales meetings and strategic planning sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
5 years of sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in hydraulic systems, heavy equipment, towing and recovery, trucking, waste management, container services, or industrial sales.
Knowledge of hydraulic components, repair processes, and service operations.
Experience with CRM software and sales reporting tools.
Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
