Job description

What We’re Searching for EveningShift 4pm - 2am, Monday - Thursday; overtime as needed on Friday.

Qualified Sit-Down Forklift Operator/Material Handler to assist in coordinating the day-to-day activities in the shipping and receiving offices, including providing customer service to the truck drivers and the production floor. Strong organizational, teamwork, dependability, accountability, and self-starter skills will lead you to success in this role.

How You Will Contribute:

-Complete and document a sit-down forklift inspection form before the start of the shift and when operating a new forklift.

-Verify counts as materials leave or enter the warehouse/production area.

-Work with shipping and receiving on incoming and outgoing materials

-Ensure that all jobs are pulled and ready for the next shift’s production run

-Must ensure that all materials being removed from a production line are accurately recorded on the correct form, and that all materials have been properly banded and/or wrapped to ensure that they will “hold up” in the warehouse.

-Performs periodic routine maintenance checks on the lifts. Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.

-Maneuvering forklifts safely in busy industrial environments

-Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets

-Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport

-Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas

-Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions.

- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.

-Adhere to daily production schedule.

- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.

- Additional duties may be assigned by management.

What it takes:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years’ experience as forklift operator in production or distribution environment.
  • Able to read, write, communicate efficiently, and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
