Job description

Salary: From $16.50

This is a position for IML Containers Ohio



The Line Packer is responsible for inspecting finished products(plastic food containers), packing them according to requirements, and maintaining adequate packaging supplies at the machine. This role supports product quality, traceability, and FSSC 22000 food safety requirements by ensuring products are handled correctly, records are completed accurately, and the work area is maintained in a clean, safe, and hygienic condition.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow the food safety rules in place, including but not limited to handwashing and hand sanitizing regularly, avoid the use of jewelries inside production floor, etc.
  • Perform visual inspection of finished products and verify quality meets required standards and specifications.
  • Pack finished products according to work instructions and customer requirements, ensuring correct identification and handling to prevent mix-ups or contamination.
  • Maintain required supplies at the machine in sufficient quantity and proper condition to support continuous, compliant production.
  • Complete required production documentation accurately and in a timely manner to support traceability and compliance.
  • Communicate quality issues, defects, equipment concerns, or any abnormal conditions to the Team Leader and/or Technician immediately.
  • Maintain the work area in a clean, organized, and safe condition, following housekeeping and hygiene requirements.
  • Follow applicable food safety and hygiene rules in place and support contamination-prevention practices.
  • Immediately report any non-conforming product, food safety hazard, deviation, or FSMS concern to identified personnel (Team Leader/Technician/Quality, as applicable).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Management.

Work Schedule:

  • 1st shift: 06:45 AM - 03:15 PM
  • 2nd shift: 02:45 PM - 11:15 PM
  • 3rd shift: 10:45 PM - 07:15 AM

Requirements:

  • Lift up to 60 lbs. on a frequent basis
  • Push or pull with up to 60 lbs. of force on an occasional basis
  • Frequent standing, walking, and manual handling of materials for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Stoop, kneel, climb or squat on an occasional basis
  • Use hands to grip, pinch, handle, reach, or feel on a frequent basis
  • Possess manual dexterity and ability to work in a fast-pace environment
  • To be authorized to work in USA - we participate in E-verify.
  • To pass a drug and background screening, according to the company`s policy

Educations and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior line packer experience.
  • Prior line packer experience in a food industry will be an asset.

  • The noise level in the work environment does not require hearing protection, due to the noise levels being below the limits, but earplugs are provided if desired.
  • Dress code required is tied shoes and long pants. Hair net, beard net and lab coat are provided. Jewelry/painted nails/false eyelashes are NOT allowed in production floor.
