We are currently hiring a Depot Gate Inspector who will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our terminal. The Depot Gate Inspector is responsible for efficiently coordinating the movement of trucks and containers in and out of the facility while inspecting trailers, chassis, and containers for damage. This position requires inspection and forklift/hostler experience.

Pay Rate- $20.00 hourly

Responsibilities:

  • Performs inspections chassis entering or leaving the yard gate using a hand-held device
  • Mark & input the issues found of the chassis
  • Conduct weekly yard inventory checks.
  • Direct Drivers Chassis Lots
  • Operate yard hostler and forklift.
  • Ensure compliance with established safety and quality management procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to follow directions and work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions year-round.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a gate clerk or in a similar role within the intermodal rail or logistic industry is preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in using computer systems and data entry software.
  • Basic knowledge of transportation and logistics operations
  • Familiarity with relevant safety and security regulations
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
