Pay: $19.67 - $25.57 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:
Registers patients, schedules appointments, procedures and testing. May obtain referral or insurance information, verify guarantor information, quote co-pay, coinsurance, and self-pay rates to patients. Provides efficient flow of clinical and non-clinical information via phone in a call center setting.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs patient registration and scheduling functions. Obtains insurance and demographic information. Entry level position for all agents.
  • Obtains and verifies referral or insurance authorization/pre-certification approvals from health plan or primary care physician office. Explains financial requirements to patients or responsible party, quoting co-pay, self -pay and co-insurance as required.
  • Ensures communication services for hearing impaired and non-English speaking patients are initiated. Educates patients on the My Health Connection tool. Ensures accuracy of information given to patients and colleagues.
  • Expedites information from staff to management. Works with staff from other clinics to gather information and trains staff on scheduling. Collaborates with staff from other departments to improve overall patient experience. Appropriately escalates calls as need arises.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:
  • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED. Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum Experience: None required.
