What is consumer behavior?

Consumer behavior is the study of how individuals, groups, or organizations select, purchase, use, and dispose of goods, services, ideas, or experiences. It examines the processes and motivations behind consumers’ decisions and actions, including psychological, social, and cultural influences. Understanding consumer behavior helps businesses tailor their products and marketing strategies to better meet customer needs and preferences.

You may collaborate closely with data analysts, product managers, and creative teams to interpret purchasing patterns and design campaigns that resonate with target audiences. Your daily tasks could include running surveys, interpreting focus group feedback, and preparing reports that guide product development or advertising decisions. The role offers exposure to multiple departments and the opportunity to directly influence how a brand connects with consumers.
