About the Role
As a Consulting Manager - Utilities Data & AI Transformation, you will make an impact by helping utility clients unlock business value through data modernization, AI-powered decision-making, and digital transformation initiatives. You will combine deep utilities domain expertise with modern data platform capabilities, leveraging Palantir Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) technologies to drive measurable business outcomes.
You will be a valued member of Cognizant Consulting's Utilities & Energy practice and work collaboratively with business leaders, technology teams, client stakeholders, and cross-functional consulting teams.
What You Will Do
  • Lead business transformation initiatives across utility business functions, including Meter-to-Cash (M2C), customer operations, customer experience, outage management, revenue assurance, grid reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with utility clients to connect business strategies, operational objectives, and technology-enabled solutions that deliver measurable business value.
  • Define business, product, and platform strategies that support enterprise transformation goals and improve operational performance.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to understand business needs, define scope, and document requirements.
  • Analyse utility business processes and identify opportunities for optimisation, automation, improved customer experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop functional requirements, business use cases, process maps, user stories, and solution recommendations.
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions and successful programme outcomes.
  • Support testing activities, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), scope clarification, enhancement requests, and change management activities throughout project lifecycles.
  • Manage executive and senior stakeholder relationships while providing strategic advisory services and transformation guidance.
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams while fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, delivery teams, vendors, and business partners to drive successful transformation outcomes.

Work Model

What You Must Have to Be Considered
  • 8-15 years of experience in utilities consulting, business transformation, product management, business analysis, programme delivery, or technology consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of utility business processes including Meter-to-Cash (M2C), billing operations, customer service, customer engagement, outage management, revenue assurance, and utility operations.
  • Experience defining business requirements, conducting stakeholder workshops, and creating use cases, process flows, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Proven experience leading consulting engagements and delivering business transformation initiatives within utility organizations.
  • Strong understanding of business process improvement, operating model transformation, and technology-enabled change.
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and project delivery teams to drive solution implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and influence decision-making at multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to travel as required for client and business needs.

  • Experience within electric or utility services organizations.
