Role:
Consulting Manager
Location:
  • Clearsulting is headquartered in Cleveland, OH, with additional offices located in Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; and Dallas, TX. Other cities are welcome remotely.
  • Office Options: Hybrid or Remote. Team members residing within a 45 minute commuting radius of a Clearsulting office, we expect 8 days of in-person work per month, allowing flexibility choosing these days to accommodate client meetings, team syncs and individual schedules.
  • Travel Expectations: 20%

What you'll do
  • Lead finance transformation engagements from strategy through execution, shaping the delivery approach, validating solution direction, and ensuring the team's work produces measurable client outcomes across process, data, controls, and technology.
  • Own engagement planning and execution, including scope, workplans, staffing, milestones, budget, project economics, risks, dependencies, quality standards, and governance; anticipate delivery challenges and align clients and Clearsulting leadership on practical paths forward.
  • Serve as a day-to-day leader and trusted advisor for client stakeholders, establish clear expectations, navigate difficult conversations, resolve escalations, and connect delivery decisions to the client's strategic priorities and business value.
  • Work towards becoming a subject matter expert in financial close, procure to pay or business advisory; working with technologies like Blackline, Coupa, Alteryx, Microsoft Fabric, Rossum, Savant Labs and others.
  • Contribute to Clearsulting's growth by sharing knowledge, developing reusable tools and methodologies and supporting internal initiatives, and participating in business development activities such as proposal development and solution demonstrations.
  • Lead and develop project teams by setting clear expectations, delegating work effectively, reviewing deliverables, providing timely and actionable feedback, coaching team members through challenges, and creating opportunities that build their skills and readiness for increased responsibility.

What You'll Bring:
  • 6+ years of experience solving finance, accounting, operations, technology, or transformation challenges in consulting, professional services, or an industry environment
  • 1+ year of people management experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple phases of complex client engagements, including scope, workplans, staffing, milestones, budgets, project economics, risks, governance, and change enablement.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems, evaluate qualitative and quantitative information, develop practical recommendations, and communicate complex ideas clearly through executive-ready presentations, written deliverables, and client discussions.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored visa support.

Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience in consulting, professional services, or another complex client-service environment involving multiple stakeholders, concurrent priorities, and accountability for high-quality delivery.
  • Experience applying functional knowledge in one or more digital finance areas, such as financial close and reporting, accounting operations, Source to Pay and procurement, business advisory, finance transformation, process improvement, or controls.
  • Experience implementing or using technology software such as: Blackline, Coupa, Kyriba, Workiva or similar tools. Relevant certifications are also valued.
  • Experience supporting account growth through opportunity identification, scoping, pricing, proposal development, presentations, or solution demonstrations.

The compensation range for this position is $120,000 - 156,000. We are committed to ensuring our offers reflect the value each candidate brings to the role. Final salary placement will be based on upon several factors, including, level of expertise, relevant work experience, technology certifications, educational background, geography and alignment with industry standards. This role is eligible for our bonus program.
