A consultant pharmacist’s duties are to advise patients about their medication, oversee its administration, and verify that a patient is prescribed medications that are not harmful to their wellbeing. As a consultant pharmacist, you are often the most senior pharmacist at your workplace, or you are called in to consult with other pharmacists at various locations, such as a nursing home, elderly care facility, pharmacy, or treatment center. Consultant pharmacists can specialize in pharmacy care for seniors or for patients with specific types of illnesses, but these roles typically all have similar responsibilities.
