Are you a compassionate experienced Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients and families during life's most challenging moments? Virtua Health invites you to join our expanding Psychiatry team, where your expertise will directly enhance the quality of life for our diverse community.
Virtua Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and dedicated experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Psychiatry team. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality inpatient psychiatric care across our behavioral health units and consult services, supporting patients through stabilization, healing, and long-term recovery.
As a vital member of our inpatient psychiatric program, you will work collaboratively with physicians, behavioral health consult coordinators, nurses, social workers, and trainees to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in a dynamic hospital-based setting.
What You'll Do:
  • Provide daily psychiatric care in a 10-bed voluntary inpatient mental health unit at Virtua Willingboro Hospital
  • Assist attending psychiatrists on additional inpatient psychiatric units at Virtua Willingboro as needed
  • Deliver psychiatric care as part of the inpatient psychiatric consult service
  • Partner closely with behavioral health consult coordinators (RNs or LCSWs) who support assessments, care planning, clinical documentation, nursing education, and coordination with nursing leadership
  • Contribute to graduate medical education, working with psychiatry and family medicine residents and medical students through the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine

About Our Program:
Becker's Hospital Review recognized Virtua Health as one of 60 hospitals or health systems with exceptional psychiatry and behavioral health programs, citing our "robust spectrum of behavioral health services across South Jersey, anchored by 70 inpatient beds and supported by a team of more than 60 certified behavioral health professionals."
In addition to inpatient psychiatric services, Virtua's comprehensive behavioral health program includes:
  • Outpatient mental health treatment embedded within 28 primary care offices, featuring psychiatrists, advanced practice providers, and licensed clinical social workers
  • CASTLE pediatric behavioral health program, offering outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient therapy, partial hospitalization, and a therapeutic nursery for children ages 3-4
  • Advanced interventional psychiatry, including electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)
  • Substance use disorder treatment through our Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) program
  • Perinatal mood and anxiety disorder program

Compensation:
  • The starting rate for this position is: $94.00/hour.
    The actual compensation package could vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, the applicant's experience, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
