Consult-Liaison PsychiatristDays - Full TimeCambridge Tower APosition Summary / Career Interest:Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist to join a dynamic and expanding academic practice located at the 39th and Rainbow campus in Kansas City, Kansas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of the Division of Consult-Liaison Services to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a dynamic academic medical center.
  • Deliver comprehensive consult-liaison psychiatric services for medically complex patients, with a primary focus on the inpatient hospital setting.
  • Provide telepsychiatry consultation services to affiliated facilities.
  • Supervise and teach psychiatry residents and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient settings while maintaining a faculty outpatient clinic practice.
  • Partner with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and external agencies to ensure coordinated care, seamless transitions, and continuity of treatment across the healthcare continuum.
  • Participate in departmental conferences, faculty meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and hospital and School of Medicine committees that support the academic mission.
  • Share in weekend call responsibilities and participate in the electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) rotation, with opportunities to develop expertise in additional interventional psychiatry procedures based on individual interests.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD,DOor equivalent degree
  • Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency program
  • ABPN board certificationorboard eligibility inGeneralPsychiatrywith plans to complete certification within two years
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 - 3 years of work experience in an academic medical center and providingconsultative liaison work
