Position Overview

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for a direct-hire opportunity with a growing client in the swimming pool construction industry in Houston, TX.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience building and managing in-ground swimming pool projects, with particular emphasis on gunite and/or shotcrete pool construction.

This position requires someone who understands the complete pool construction process and can effectively manage projects, subcontractors, schedules, quality, and customer expectations from construction start through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple in-ground swimming pool construction projects from start through completion.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, construction crews, and project schedules.
  • Oversee various phases of pool construction, including:
    • Excavation
    • Steel and rebar
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical coordination
    • Gunite and shotcrete
    • Tile and coping
    • Decking
    • Interior finishes and plaster
    • Inspections and final completion
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits and monitor construction progress.
  • Ensure projects meet plans, specifications, quality standards, and established timelines.
  • Identify and resolve construction, scheduling, and quality issues.
  • Coordinate required inspections and construction milestones.
  • Communicate project status and expectations with homeowners, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and workmanship.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and status updates.
  • Help ensure projects remain on schedule and are completed to established quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of swimming pool construction experience required.
  • Experience with in-ground pool construction.
  • Experience with gunite and/or shotcrete pools strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of both standardized/production and custom pool construction is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing multiple active construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of the pool construction process from excavation through completion.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and construction trades.
  • Ability to read construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong scheduling, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer-service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a field-based construction environment.
