Job description

CME is seeking a Construction Superintendent to effectively manage, direct and coordinate the onsite field operations required to complete projects on schedule, within budget in accordance with design, all while exceeding customer expectations. The Superintendent will oversee craft employees and/or other contractors on the jobsite to achieve specified results. Successful candidate will establish a positive relationship with all members of the Project Team (Project Manager, Owners, Estimating, Architects, Subcontractors and Suppliers).
This position is responsible for the following duties which include but may not be limited to:
DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervision of total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design and working schedule.
  • Accurate and timely documentation of all required paperwork including but not limited to timesheets, daily logs inspections, incidents, RFIs.
  • Assist Project Management in development and modifications to the overall schedule prior to the beginning of construction.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control and quality control).
  • Interact with Project Manager regarding authorization and/or approval of all project personnel, subcontractors, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
  • Communicates and assists with Project Management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
  • Perform overall building layout and other project site layouts as standard by general contractor.
  • Understand and be able to perform any craft work required for self-performed trades.
