Job description

Path Construction is seeking a qualified Superintendent to join our team in the Chicago, IL area. We are a rapidly growing commercial general contractor headquartered in Arlington Heights, IL, with additional offices in Charlotte, NC; Knoxville, TN; Tampa, FL; Dallas, TX; and Phoenix, AZ. Our projects span across the country.
This role is suited for someone with 5+ years of construction management experience who is comfortable leading field operations across a variety of project types. The Superintendent plays a critical role in managing day-to-day site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and at a high level of quality.
We are seeking individuals with strong leadership, problem-solving ability, and a deep understanding of construction means and methods across multiple trades.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities from project start through completion
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and field personnel
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure work is progressing on time
  • Oversee site safety and enforce company safety standards and procedures
  • Manage quality control and ensure work meets project specifications
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, inspectors, and project stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively to keep projects on track
  • Support project teams with coordination, logistics, and overall execution

Requirements
  • 5+ years of building and construction management experience
  • OSHA site safety experience
  • Strong communication skills and comfort with modern construction technology
  • Proven technical knowledge of construction means and methods across all phases of a project (including concrete, masonry, metals, wood and plastics, moisture protection, openings, finishes, specialties, equipment, fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communication, security, earthwork, exterior improvements, utilities, transportation, water and wastewater, and demolition)
  • General knowledge of construction principles and practices
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to company growth
  • Valid driver's license; ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds

Preferred Qualifications
  • 9+ years of building and construction management experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant project experience (commercial, healthcare, public, education, multifamily, etc.)
  • Estimating experience
  • Working knowledge of project management processes and software (Microsoft Office, SAGE 300 CRE)
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • LEED project experience
  • Experience with multi-story construction
