Job description

The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent by managing designated field activities associated with the project and supervision of designated field construction work by subcontractors and employees. Assists the project team to ensure the project is built on time, within budget, and in accordance with Company policies & procedures.

Essential Job Functions



  • Supervises various Amoroso trade employees

  • Directs and coordinates subcontractor and Company field personnel in designated areas of expertise.

  • Manages changes in schedule, changes in scope, and monitors and reports delays to work.

  • Effectively measures quality and craftsmanship and directs employees to make changes, if necessary.

  • Plans and requisitions materials.

  • Promotes safety and site cleanliness on job site and implements, enforces, and effectively manages Amoroso's safety policy and procedures.

  • Collaborates with Superintendent to manage labor and achieve productivity to meet time and cost targets.

  • Understands project specifications, the contract, and the contract's general conditions, and confirms that all materials and subcontract work comply with contract documents and quality specifications.

  • Assists Superintendent in ensuring the project closeout process is finalized to settle all financial obligations, demobilize all resources, and transition the project to the customer.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required


  • BS. in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field preferred, or minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience.

  • Ability to understand and read drawings and specifications.

  • Makes decisions under tight deadlines.

  • Organizes people, tools, and equipment and manages multiple activities to accomplish desired results.

  • Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g. Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
