Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Construction Specialist performs work related to construction, installation, and repair of buildings, grounds, and associated systems. This includes, but is not limited to, utilities, excavation, masonry, framing, roofing, finishes, electrical, and HVAC systems.
 
The Construction Specialist:
  • Examines and comprehends blueprints to determine required dimensional layouts for buildings and building systems.
  • Performs tasks such as measuring, cutting, forming, fastening, framing, welding, tuck-pointing, drywall and concrete finishing, painting and staining, wiring, soldering, and threading.
  • Performs operation of equipment such as telescoping forklifts, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, augers, and man lifts.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must demonstrate job skill proficiency, possess the ability to work in a team environment productively while balancing team and individual responsibilities, and have highly developed interpersonal skills displaying an openness to others’ views.  A high school diploma or HSE, a valid driver’s license, the ability to frequently lift or move items weighing 50 to 100 pounds, and the ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs are requirements for this position.
