Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Sr. Warehouse Associate is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day warehouse operations of a specific area within the warehouse to ensure all incoming orders are processed according to department defined goals, ensuring transactions accuracy and reporting discrepancies to find resolution.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee and direct other warehouse associates including contractors in their day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Prioritize workload within the warehouse.
  • Maintain training records for all associates.
  • Identify and address all safety hazards within the work area.
  • Participate in Lean/Kaizen, Black Belt, and other Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Train new warehouse associates in material handling, identification, and system transactions.
  • Assist in the recruitment of warehouse personnel.
  • Assist in areas like shipping and receiving, unload trucks with forklift or crane, check in merchandise, match purchase orders to sales orders and distribute to sales associates for processing.
  • Accurately stock material physically and systematically into proper warehouse bin locations.
  • Read and accurately transact customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for employees and visitors.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers. Assist in routine cycle counting of inventory. Weighing and counting items to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Record transactional amounts of materials or items received issued via appropriate ERP & Warehouse Management Systems transaction.
  • Ability to review MTR's and maintain traceability on required material.
  • Preform 5S activities as assigned.
  • Sweep, dust, mop, and always organize warehouse and work area for orderliness.
  • Document Purchase Orders or Work Order, Part Numbers, and Projects on all incoming/ outgoing items.
  • Communicates with cross functional teams to drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitors and report team KPI's to upper management.
  • Job requires intense interaction with Company's ERP & Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Any other duties as assigned by TAS.

JOB SKILLS:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to drive forklift.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Analytical and detail oriented.
  • Strong communication skills to work with warehouse employees, peers, leadership, and cross functional departments.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:
  • High School diploma

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years of related factory experience and/or training
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Computer knowledge with warehouse ERP systems, intermediate to advanced MS Office software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work performed in a shop environment.
  • Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
  • Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness
  • Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.
  • The use of Safety Glasses is required.
  • The use of a hard hat is required.
  • The use of earplugs is recommended.
  • Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with a lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week.
  • Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
  • Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility
