Job description

Phoenix Diversified Group, Inc. is looking for talented individuals, who manage their projects by anticipation rather than reaction, and who plan the work rather than letting it take its own course. We are looking for Site Superintendents who are willing to step up, initiate control, and take the extra steps necessary for a successful project completed on time with the highest quality standards. With this position there will be the need to travel and stay near the project site depending on the project type. Primarily projects will be in Rockland County, Hudson Valley, and Southern Albany areas of NY.


Projects vary from minor maintenance projects to additions and renovations in the financial and other commercial business sectors.


The Site Superintendent runs the day-to-day construction operations on the job site and controls the short-term schedule, works closely with Project Managers and support team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with the quality the client is expecting. The Site Superintendent may be supervising more than one project at a time and this role also includes important quality control and subcontractor coordination responsibilities.


The site super uses his experience and expertise to physically perform all facets of construction and facilities maintenance work orders. Works with the dispatch team to effectively and efficiently provide excellent customer service at the retail branch level.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the total day to day construction efforts on site.
  • Review and understand full scope of work for each subcontractor.
  • Plans, organizes, anticipates, coordinates, and supervises the work of the field employees and subcontractors according to the project plan and company policies & procedures.
  • Conducts site meetings with subcontractors and keeps accurate meeting minutes.
  • Maintains the project schedule.
  • Exercises control over the rate of construction progress in order to complete construction project within time limits.
  • Keeps cost records on work performed and materials used, completes daily reports and maintains daily logs including taking daily photos.
  • Ensures that all work is performed consistent with the contract and will meet or exceed client expectations and is in conformance with building codes.
  • Monitors adherence to site safety requirements and consistent auditing of safety protocols.
  • Communicate issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the project manager.
  • Performs inspections as needed to enforce conformity to specifications.
  • Develops and maintains good relationships with customer, architect, and local authorities.
  • Coordinates work required for completion of punch list to ensure timely closeout.
  • Assists in procuring closeout documentation at project completion.
  • Assists bank equipment team when needed for installation and removal of bank equipment such as safes, chests, safe deposit boxes, teller undercounter steel, ATMs and depository units.
  • Provide service & survey information for facilities maintenance calls.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Experience, Qualifications & Qualities:

  • 5+ years of experience in retail site construction preferred.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must present well to clients and be able to gain trust through the working relationship.
  • Ability to identify conflicts in a timely, proactive manner and be able to present solutions and workarounds for those issues.
  • Construction experience in a supervisory and workman capacity is a must.
  • Must be able to recognize and provide quality work at all levels.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as the job schedule may require.
  • Have knowledge in cost control, field engineering, scheduling, quality control and safety regulations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to navigate MS Office platforms such as Outlook, Word, & Excel.
