Job description

Forklift Operator – 1st Shift

Lucas, KS

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, is seeking a 1st Shift Forklift Operator to join our Material Handling team at our facility in Lucas, KS.

This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays, as required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe movement of parts to required staging areas or locations.
  • Ensure correct part identification and delivery to correct location is a must to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on all equipment used.
  • Ensure paperwork from vendors is accurate.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Flexibility to work with other departments and operate other equipment.
  • Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have forklift license or ability to obtain one
  • Experience safely operating a forklift or similar equipment helpful
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understand team concepts and be a strong team player
  • Ability to excel in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
  • Ability to use and understand AS400 software
  • Ability to read blueprints, use tape measure, and read calipers
