Heavy Equipment Operator - Dozer, Trackhoe, and Motor Grader

D&J Construction Company, a leading highway contractor in Louisiana, is seekingskilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operatorsto join our team. We are looking for individuals proficient in operatingdozers, trackhoes (excavators), and motor gradersto support our construction and earthwork operations.

Position Overview:TheHeavy Equipment Operatoris responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery to perform site grading, excavation, and road construction. Operators must have experience handlingdozers, trackhoes, and/or motor graderswhile ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operatedozers, trackhoes (excavators), and motor gradersfor grading, excavation, and earthmoving tasks.
  • Read and interpretgrading plans, blueprints, and project specificationsto ensure accuracy.
  • Performpre-operational inspectionsand routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Ensureproper slope, elevation, and gradeper project requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to complete jobs efficiently.
  • Followall safety proceduresand regulations, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Maintainequipment cleanliness and organizationat job sites.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experienceoperating heavy equipment such asdozers, trackhoes, or motor graders.
  • Ability toread and interpret grading plans and site layouts.
  • Experience inhighway construction, site development, or earthmovingis preferred.
  • Strong understanding ofgrading, slopes, and compaction requirements.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work flexible hours as project demands require.
  • Must besafety-consciousand follow all site safety procedures.
  • On-machine GPS, Laser, and Robotics experience is a plus.

Additional Information & Requirements:

  • Work hours vary based on seasonal workload, withprimarily daytime 10-12 hour shifts.
  • Monday through Friday schedulewith someSaturday work required.
  • Must have avalid driver's license.
  • Must have avalid email addressfor communication.
