Job Title: Senior Construction Project Manager (Data Center outside of St. Louis, MS)

Job Description

The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and financial performance of complex, MEP-driven construction projects where system reliability and operational continuity are paramount. This role leads projects from early concept through commissioning and turnover, ensuring critical electrical, mechanical, controls, and low voltage systems are executed with precision, discipline, and an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and support safety inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous quality control measures for mission critical MEP systems.
  • Lead planning and execution of MEP intensive scopes, including electrical distribution, mechanical systems, controls, life safety, and low voltage infrastructure.
  • Manage detailed phasing, sequencing, and system interdependencies to support testing, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Ensure systems are installed to meet performance, redundancy, and uptime requirements.
  • Maintain full accountability for project scope, schedule, and budget performance.
  • Review, negotiate, and manage change orders with a focus on risk mitigation.
  • Lead procurement, contracting, and performance management of MEP trade partners.
  • Facilitate collaboration between design teams, owners, commissioning agents, and field leadership.
  • Conduct OAC, subcontractor, and internal team meetings to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Support estimating, takeoffs, and subcontractor bid analysis for MEP scopes.
  • Recommend construction methods, materials, and system layouts to optimize cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Identify long lead equipment and critical path risks early.
  • Lead and mentor Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and field teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and partnership.
  • Support business development efforts and help maintain repeat client relationships.
  • Drive coordination of OFE efforts and collaborate closely with owner procurement teams.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing MEP intensive or mission critical construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
  • Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and system turnover preferred.
  • Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office.
  • Proven ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in mission critical construction, data center construction, and hyperscale construction.
  • Skills in construction management, change order, contract negotiation, and site development.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam.
