What we need:
We are looking for a committed, experienced construction leader to join our team in Utah. The Construction Project Manager oversees and manages daily project needs, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. This role involves coordinating with a team of automation technicians, subcontractors, and clientProject Managers, to ensure project success. Preference will be given to candidates with electrical and mechanical experience, and within commuting distance to the Davis County, Utah area. This position is in-office and customer location based.
Your responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily construction sites, ensuring work is progressing as planned.
  • Coordinate and monitor the activities of subcontractors, construction workers, and vendors.
  • Lead site meetings to communicate updates, issues, and expectations.
  • Investigating, processing, and submitting RFI's, Submittals, and other construction documents or correspondence to support execution of construction projects.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Monitor and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments, ensuring all equipment and tools are properly maintained and safe to use.
  • Assist with scheduling and managing the work schedule to meet project deadlines.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered at specified times to comply with work schedules.
  • Track and report progress on the construction project, ensuring milestones are met.
  • Monitor project costs and assist in controlling expenses to stay within budget.
  • Prepares reports on progress, materials used and costs and adjusts work schedules as needed to meet schedule.
  • Assist with the preparation of change order scopes, estimates and schedule coordination.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise on-site, whether technical, personnel-related, or material-related.
  • Communicate timely and effectively with management and other stakeholders regarding project concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of work progress, work hours, material use, and safety incidents.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports to update project stakeholders on progress and any issues or delays.
  • Provide guidance, training, and motivation to construction workers and teams.
  • Promote a professional, positive, productive, and safety-conscious work environment.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical or mechanical engineering is required. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
Experience:
Required Skills and Experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in a construction supervisory role, with knowledge of construction processes, tools, and materials.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in HVAC temperature controls, or building automation is highly desired. Other relevant experience in process controls, telemetry or SCADA systems will be considered.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience developing and designing digital control systems for HVAC applications.
  • Solid foundation in electrical engineering, including the ability to read and create diagrams and schematics.
  • Expertise in HVAC automation control drawing development, including data sheets, technical drawings, and detailed specifications.
  • Proficiency in performing mechanical design calculations such as heat gain/loss, airflow and pressure drops, duct sizing, and equipment selection.
  • Skilled in load and energy calculations to ensure HVAC system efficiency and compliance.
  • Ability to design and optimize HVAC systems performance with controls while collaborating with architects, engineers, and general contractors.
  • Experience conducting testing, validation, and troubleshooting of HVAC control systems and all I/O devices.
  • Competent in reading and interpreting project specifications and construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
  • Working knowledge of federal contracting requirements and experience with compliance in regulated environments.
  • Proficiency with design and CAD tools such as AutoDesk, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and Visio desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and others.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.
