Heavy Civil Estimator / Project Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator / Project Manager to support the estimating and execution of earthwork, underground utilities, site development, and other heavy civil construction projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, managing project budgets and schedules, coordinating field operations, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects using HeavyBid and PlanSwift, including quantity takeoffs, labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor pricing

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to maintain project schedules and cost control

  • Manage project budgets, track cost performance, and ensure alignment with approved financial targets

  • Conduct on-site evaluations to assess project scope, site conditions, constructability, and potential changes

  • Communicate regularly with management to provide updates on project status, costs, and risks

  • Support project planning, scheduling, and change management throughout the project lifecycle

  • Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with civil construction safety regulations on all job sites

  • Collaborate closely with field leadership to resolve constructability, production, and logistical challenges

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating and/or project management

  • Proficiency with HeavyBid and PlanSwift required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills

  • Proven leadership ability with experience coordinating teams, subcontractors, and vendors

  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
