Job description

Position Summary:

Seeking an experienced Project Engineer with current construction industry-related work experience, preferably in Public Works. The Project Engineer is responsible for document creation and control, ordering and tracking project deliverables and otherwise generally assisting the Project Manager in driving the project to completion on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standard. The Project Engineer is responsible for day-to-day project administrative responsibilities and safety coordination duties. This hands-on role will also provide on-going project support to all functional areas of the business. The Project Engineer position requires excellent organizational and technical skills.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management Assistance:

o   Assist with Submittal Schedule and Submittal preparation.

    • Assist with project Change Event, Potential Change Orders and Subcontractor Change Order details in Procore to ensure all changes to the project are captured and processed accordingly, either internal or external.
    • Assist with material pricing and procurement.
    • Maintain project folders and update schedules.
    • Ensure all Project Documents are up to date, formatted correctly and saved to Project folders.
    • Track project deadlines and post check-ins and reminders as needed.
    • Draft and distribute meeting agenda and notes.
    • Assist with posting Project Schedule Updates, review safety milestones and perform hazard inspections as needed.
    • Assist with Project Billing, as needed.
    • Project photography as needed.
    • Assist Project Managers with project administrative duties as assigned. Items will include RFI’s, daily reports, submittal processing, as-builts, punch list, permits/inspections, and job site coordination.  
    • Utilize Procore Construction Management Software
      • RFIs, Submittals, Observations, and Photos.
      • Review Weekly Timesheets.
      • Assist with Maintaining Project Directory.
      • Upload and organize plans ensuring most current plans are utilized by the team.
    • Assist with weekly review, coding, and approval of invoices and credit card receipts.
    • Assist with T&M tags to track time and material costs to bill the owner as needed and/or requested.
    • Assist with project punch list and closeout items.
  • Safety / Training
    • Knowledge of all safety guidelines and procedures as outlined in the FRC safety handbook.
    • Attend yearly training as required by FRC, Inc and complete certification on equipment as needed.
    • Assist with project site safety documentation and recordkeeping requirements.
    • Attend/present weekly tailgate meetings, document as described in safety manual.
    • Perform jobsite safety inspections, correct hazards observed immediately.
    • Ensure all sites have necessary safety supplies. Place orders for any needed supplies when necessary and distribute them to sites as needed.
    • Attend safety committee meetings.
    • Maintain Safety/Hazard Milestones on Project schedule. Update regularly on 3-week lookahead schedules with Project Lead.
    • Assist Managers with Incident Investigation, investigation follow up and implementation of corrective actions as needed.
    • Maintain all job site posting requirements and onsite safety binders.
    • Equipment, Tool, and Vehicle Maintenance
      • Inspection of tools and equipment for required safety components and maintenance requirements.
      • Maintain companywide service records for equipment and vehicles. Inform user of the need to schedule and/or coordinate a service call or appointment.

·       Must have very strong organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work-related experience preferred

·       2 + years within a construction environment preferred

·       Procore Construction Management Software preferred

·       High Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred

·       Strong computer/technical analytical skills

·       Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation needed
