Construction Project Coordinator Jobs in Silver Spring, MD

BGC | G&G is looking for a construction professional who wants to build successful commercial projects while continuing to grow their career.

We are open to candidates at different stages of their construction management career. You may be an Assistant Project Manager ready for greater responsibility, a Project Manager already running projects, or an experienced construction professional looking for a long-term opportunity with an established general contractor.

The level of responsibility will depend on your experience. Developing candidates will work closely with experienced Project Managers and field leadership, while experienced candidates may take direct ownership of projects from startup through completion.

Our work includes ground-up construction, renovations, design-build, tenant improvements, multifamily, education, medical and specialty facilities, offices, restaurants, government projects, and other commercial environments throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.

Depending on your experience and assigned projects, responsibilities may include:

• Help set up new construction projects, contracts, project files, schedules, and documentation
• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and subcontractor documents
• Maintain project logs, drawings, schedules, and weekly project updates
• Communicate with Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, architects, owners, and internal leadership
• Assist with or lead project schedules, budgets, and cost controls
• Review drawings, scopes of work, contracts, and project requirements
• Support subcontractor buyout and preparation of scopes of work
• Track invoices, commitments, job costs, and project financial information
• Coordinate permits, insurance documents, and subcontractor compliance
• Attend project kickoff, owner, and subcontractor meetings
• Prepare meeting notes, progress reports, and two-week look-ahead information
• Identify potential project issues early and help develop practical solutions
• Visit active jobsites and stay connected with field operations
• Support project safety, quality, schedule, and productivity expectations
• Assist with punch lists, warranties, final documentation, and project closeout

More experienced Project Managers may also:

• Manage commercial construction projects from startup through final completion
• Lead owner, subcontractor, and project coordination meetings
• Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
• Manage preconstruction and estimating activities
• Coordinate trade buyout and subcontractor selection
• Manage change orders and overall project financial performance
• Maintain direct client relationships
• Take ownership of project schedule, cost, quality, and execution
• Manage multiple commercial construction projects or larger, more complex projects

We are interested in construction professionals who are organized, accountable, communicative, and ready to take ownership appropriate to their experience level.

Strong candidates may bring:

• Commercial construction experience
• Experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Construction Coordinator, or in a similar construction management role
• Understanding of construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work effectively with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and design professionals
• Attention to detail and strong follow-through
• Interest in developing broader project scheduling, budgeting, and construction management skills
• Willingness to spend time at active jobsites and remain connected to field operations

For more experienced candidates, background in commercial project management, ground-up construction, estimating, budgeting, subcontractor management, and multimillion-dollar projects is especially valuable.

A bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field is helpful, but relevant construction experience may also qualify you.

Experience with construction technology is helpful, including:

• Procore
• Sage / Timberline
• TimberScan
• Microsoft Office 365

You do not need experience with every system to be considered.

Salary: $85,000-$120,000 per year

Compensation will depend on commercial construction experience, current level of responsibility, project management background, project size and complexity, and ability to contribute to assigned projects.

Candidates developing into full project management responsibility may fall toward the lower portion of the range, while experienced Project Managers capable of independently managing larger or more complex commercial projects may fall toward the higher portion.

This position is based in Millersville, Maryland, with regular involvement at active project sites throughout the company's Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia markets.

Typical office hours are approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Construction project demands can occasionally require additional flexibility depending on schedules, deadlines, and field conditions.

This is not a position where every project looks the same.

You may work on commercial renovations, educational facilities, multifamily projects, specialty facilities, restaurants, offices, or major ground-up construction.

You will work alongside experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, and company leadership while having the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as your capabilities grow.
