Location: New Jersey
ATANE is seeking an experienced Office Engineer to support transportation construction projects for the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) throughout New Jersey.
The Office Engineer will play a key role in project administration by coordinating documentation, contract records, correspondence, and construction reporting while working closely with Resident Engineers, inspection staff, contractors, and agency personnel.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain project records and construction documentation.
  • Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and material certifications.
  • Process daily reports, meeting minutes, correspondence, and payment estimates.
  • Track project schedules, change orders, quantities, and contract modifications.
  • Coordinate with Resident Engineers, inspectors, contractors, and agency representatives.
  • Ensure project documentation complies with NJDOT and NJTA requirements.
  • Assist with project closeout documentation and final acceptance packages.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous construction inspection experience on NJDOT and/or NJTA transportation construction projects is required.
  • Previous experience serving as an Office Engineer, Assistant Office Engineer, or in a similar construction engineering/document control role on transportation construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation construction documentation, contract administration, and inspection procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic project documentation systems.
