Job description

Director of Sales & Marketing

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales & Marketing to lead and scale the sales and marketing organization for a rapidly growing California homebuilder specializing in single-family homes, multifamily developments, and innovative residential construction. While the company initially established its reputation through accessory dwelling units (ADUs), its primary focus today is delivering high-quality housing communities and multifamily projects throughout California.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands new home sales, residential construction, and how to build a high-performing sales organization. You will recruit, develop, and coach a growing sales team while personally engaging with prospective buyers through presentations, product demonstrations, and strategic customer interactions.

The ideal candidate has experience with a production homebuilder or residential developer, understands construction timelines and the homebuying process, and is excited to leverage technology, AI-powered CRM tools, and data-driven marketing strategies to accelerate growth.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that drive revenue growth across new home and multifamily residential communities.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales organization.
  • Personally lead customer consultations, model home presentations, and product demonstrations alongside the sales team.
  • Build scalable sales processes, coaching programs, and performance metrics that support continued organizational growth.
  • Develop and oversee digital marketing, lead generation, branding, referral, and event marketing initiatives.
  • Partner with design, estimating, permitting, and construction teams to ensure accurate communication regarding products, pricing, timelines, and customer expectations.
  • Utilize AI-enabled CRM platforms, lead scoring, marketing automation, and sales enablement tools to improve team productivity and customer engagement.
  • Monitor pipeline performance, sales forecasting, KPIs, and marketing ROI while providing regular reporting to executive leadership.
  • Build strategic relationships with developers, brokers, real estate professionals, referral partners, and industry organizations.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
  • Travel throughout California to support communities, customer meetings, sales events, and project sites.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in residential homebuilding, new home sales, or construction sales leadership.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction, permitting, development timelines, and the homebuyer journey.
  • Proven success building, managing, and scaling sales teams.
  • Experience leading both sales and marketing functions.
  • Hands-on experience conducting product demonstrations and coaching sales professionals.
  • Experience with CRM systems, pipeline management, forecasting, and marketing analytics.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI-powered CRM, sales enablement, and marketing automation tools.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout California.
  • Valid California driver's license.
Desired Qualifications

  • Experience selling single-family homes, multifamily communities, or master-planned developments.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, SEO, paid media, and customer acquisition strategies.
