Construction Superintendent

Alliance Construction and Design is a leading construction firm specializing in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team.

As a Construction Superintendent with, you will be a part of the Field Operations team and be responsible to deliver high quality projects on time and on budget. Your role will interact directly with owners, project managers, subcontractors, and the Alliance Management Team to help build and shape the future of the company. You will have the chance to learn new skills and seek greater responsibilities, while earning competitive pay and benefits.

What You Get To Do:

  • Plan and supervise the work of our field employees, subcontractors, and trade partners. This includes figuring out method of construction, staffing levels, material quantities, equipment, power sources, and work schedules.
  • Work with our project teams during preconstruction to assist in scheduling, budgeting, and site logistics. Make improvements to the schedule as needed. Build effective relationships with owner, project managers, employees, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Fully understand drawings, details, specs, processes, and flow needed to execute the project from start to finish.
  • Demonstrate excellence as a leader by overseeing, directing, and mentoring Alliance self-perform crews to help foster their career growth.
  • Monitor all jobsite document controls including daily reports, punch lists, schedule updates, labor hours, quantity reporting, accident and incident reports, timesheets, RFIs and field issues or changes, and any other site activity.
  • Help identify potential budget problems and work with the team to develop contingency plans and other measures to control or successfully manage these.
  • Manage and forecast field General Conditions and General Requirements to maintain an accurate project budget and prevent unneeded expenses.
  • When time permits work alongside the crew, complete small tasks, lead crew in a foreman role.

What We Expect From You:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years in the construction industry with five (5) years of superintendent experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have managed projects in excess of $5M.
  • An advanced degree or certification in construction management of similar curriculum is preferred but not required.
  • A solid understanding of construction terminology and documentation and the ability to communicate with the project team.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks when necessary and mentor the project team.
  • Ability to show leadership and remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of other construction software is a plus.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 and 30 certifications required within 90-days of hire.
  • Work out of town as need Monday thru Friday

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to elevate to heights of 30 feet or higher.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and stand to operate and move heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and into equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to walk on uneven, wet, slippery or grainy surfaces.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility or to job sites as required.
