The Opportunity
Are you passionate about construction and driven to deliver top-quality homes? KB Home is looking for a dynamic and experienced Superintendent/Construction Manager to lead the entire homebuilding process from groundbreaking to final close within an assigned community. In this role, you will ensure maximum profitability, foster strong relationships with trade partners, inspectors, and homebuyers to effectively uphold the highest standards of quality assurance and customer satisfaction throughout the construction of new homes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct KB staff and trade partners in constructing quality homes, adhering to the KB Edge business model.
  • Manage milestone reports and ensure homes are completed per schedule.
  • Schedule and monitor trade partners, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Approve purchase orders and invoices, maintaining quality and timely completion of work.
  • Maintain subdivision cleanliness and hold trade partners accountable for daily clean-up.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Sales, Studio, Purchasing, and other internal departments to ensure timely, quality construction.
  • Strive for superior customer service and ensure all home deliveries are 100% complete and signed off by the homebuyer.
  • Resolve customer or construction concerns, conduct orientations with buyers, and work closely with the salesforce to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a safe work site by enforcing good housekeeping regulations and safety requirements.
  • Facilitate weekly safety meetings, complete Quality Checkpoints, and provide daily status updates on construction progress.
  • Work with NHQ certified trade partners, drive the permit and inspection sign-off process, and interact with various inspectors.

What You Bring
  • High school degree or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Construction Management vocational degree or certificate preferred.
  • Minimum one year as a Construction Manager or Superintendent in the homebuilding industry.
  • 2-5 years of construction experience with a production homebuilder preferred.
  • Strong customer service, leadership, and people skills.
  • Action-oriented with a drive to push projects to successful closure.
  • Proven ability to be customer-centric by seeking solutions from the customer's perspective.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate them accurately and persuasively.
  • Ability to work within a team-setting, inclusive of others' ideas, and a willingness to cooperate.
  • Quick and accurate decision-making based on facts, data, and metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Requirements
  • Ability to work full-time with flexibility for overtime and the "On-Call" program when needed.
  • Valid driver's license required to drive/travel as needed within designated region between communities.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to move about work location.
  • Ability to drive/travel as needed.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.

Compensation Details and Benefits
KB Home offers a competitive base pay. The expected base pay range for this position is based on experience and is noted below, paid semi-monthly. Other rewards may include bonuses or role-specific awards.
KB Home provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, sick time and vacation.
Pay Range
USD $90,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
