Overview

Construction Labourers are responsible for performing a wide range of physical tasks on construction sites to support project progress and ensure safe, efficient work environments. This role plays a key part in preparing and maintaining job sites, assisting skilled tradespeople, handling materials, and following safety procedures to help complete residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Site Preparation & Construction Support

  • Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, setting up barriers, and organising work areas.
  • Dig trenches, level ground, and support basic site layout operations as directed by supervisors.

Material Handling

  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment safely.
  • Stack and distribute building supplies to work areas as needed.

Manual Labour Tasks

  • Perform general manual labour such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
  • Assist with concrete work, mixing, spreading, and basic finishing tasks.

Equipment & Tool Support

  • Operate hand tools and, where trained, basic power tools and machinery.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, reporting any issues to supervisors.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
