Job Title: Service Assistant (Delivery Helper)
Reports To: Service Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Classification: Full Time
Job Summary: The Service Assistant will be responsible for riding along with the Service Representative (Delivery Driver) and accurately and safely delivering and merchandising products to customer accounts with a sense of urgency and faster-than-average work pace. *This role is the entry level role to growth for obtaining your CDL A with SCP*
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provides continuous, courteous and professional customer service to customers, store personnel, and store customers.
  • Completes deliveries in timely manner and ensures accuracy of billing to customers.
  • Support Service Representatives with all delivery needs including rotating, merchandising, stocking all products.
  • Comply with all driving safety and State law regulations.
  • Follow the stores procedures to dispose of all empty cardboard cases and paper wrap.
  • Re-pack product as required or directed.
  • Responsible to communicate in an effective and timely manner with Service Managers.
  • Ability to work a schedule that includes early mornings. (3:00am - 5:00 AM start times)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Ability to merchandiser the product being delivered to accounts.
  • Ability to accurately complete all required paperwork, accounting, and documentation.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
  • Ability to be on time in meeting route scheduling.
  • The ability to operate various hand-operated equipment (delivery carts, hand trucks, etc.)
  • Ability to work a schedule that includes early morning start times.

  • Possesses a valid driver's license in the state of residence while maintaining a good driving record.
  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver Medical Certification or willing to obtain.

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Driving/Riding 30%
  • Walking, standing, reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, and twisting 70%
