Position Overview

We are seeking a Construction Estimator with extensive experience in public works and education-based construction projects. This leadership-level position requires someone who can manage the full estimating process from take-off through bid submission, while proactively identifying opportunities and efficiencies. The ideal candidate will be a fast-paced, self-starter with a proven ability to think outside the box and work with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Utilize Bluebeam and other estimating tools for accurate take-offs and proposals.
  • Conduct job site visits to assess field conditions for estimation accuracy.
  • Build and maintain subcontractor/vendor relationships to gather competitive bids.
  • Lead bid preparation: develop bid packages, analyze subcontractor quotes, and negotiate pricing.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure smooth transitions from bid to execution.
  • Monitor project budgets and flag cost variances throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay current with market trends, labor rates, and relevant code changes.
  • Seek out and pursue new bidding opportunities aligned with company growth goals.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience, specifically in public works and educational facilities.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam or similar take-off software.
