Do you take pride in hands-on construction work and leading from the field? Do you naturally step up to coordinate crews, keep projects moving, and ensure work is installed safely and correctly? Are you flexible enough to travel and work day or night shifts based on project needs? If so, keep reading:


We are looking for a Retail Construction Foreman who will coordinate and oversee daily construction activities under the supervision of the Field Manager. You will support the successful completion of projects with precision, craftsmanship, organization, and attention to detail-ensuring jobs are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.


To Be Successful in This Role:


YOU LEAD BY EXAMPLE

You demonstrate a strong work ethic and leadership presence on-site. You hold yourself and others accountable, maintain professionalism in fast-paced retail environments, and build positive working relationships with subcontractors, inspectors, clients, and EWB personnel.


YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE

You understand that details matter. You accurately document daily production, submit timely daily reports with photos, and maintain clear communication with your Field Manager. You follow through and ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly.


YOU VALUE SAFETY AND QUALITY

You promote safe work practices at all times and immediately address potential hazards. You take pride in producing quality craftsmanship and maintaining organized, clean job sites that reflect EWB's standards. You actively participate in safety meetings and reinforce EWB's commitment to making safety part of every job.


YOU ARE HANDS-ON AND TECHNICALLY SKILLED

You possess strong carpentry and fixturing skills and are comfortable working with tools daily while leading by example in the field. You can read and interpret architectural plans and understand construction sequencing.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:


In the First 30 Days and Ongoing:

  • Complete the onboarding program, including safety training, OSHA 30, and equipment certifications.
  • Learn EWB processes, documentation standards, and reporting expectations.
  • Use StruXure to document project progress and submit daily reports.
  • Assist in maintaining organized, clean, and safe job sites.
  • Perform hands-on carpentry, fixturing, and installation work.


By the 90-Day Mark and Ongoing:

  • Effectively coordinate daily field activities under the supervision of the Field Manager.
  • Identify and communicate potential jobsite issues before they impact the schedule.
  • Promote and enforce safety procedures consistently.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship that meets EWB standards.


Within the 6th Month Mark and Ongoing:

  • Confidently oversee daily jobsite operations with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate leadership presence with subcontractors and field crews.
  • Maintain strong organization of jobsite materials, equipment, and documentation.
  • Support the Field Manager in driving schedule performance.
  • Consistently deliver clean and organized work areas with minimal punch list items.


EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong carpentry and fixturing experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Proficient with standard carpentry hand tools.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated history of working safely and adhering to safety standards.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs.
  • Lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
  • Work extended hours outdoors in various climates.
  • Has reliable means of transportation.
  • Able to travel for up to two weeks at a time.
  • Able to work night shifts as project needs require.
  • Ability to work professionally in occupied retail environments while minimizing disruption to customers, clients, and store operations.
