POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Flagger will have responsibility for maintaining a safe work zone that ensures that traffic stays out of the way of the workers. This involves setting up and removing temporary cones and signs, as well as holding up signs that tells traffic to either stop or to proceed slowly through active work zones. The Flagger must be constantly aware of both the construction and traffic activity taking place around them. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions; work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed and required. This is a hands-on role, and the qualified candidate must be capable of determining the most effective means to performing the requirements of this position to maximize efficiency and safety.

โ€ข Position temporary work zones; utilizing warning signs, traffic cones, barrels, etc. per Nevada DOT regulatory requirements and standards
โ€ข Safely managing traffic through active work zones while standing, grasping a stop/slow paddle, and utilizing radio communication

QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข Work experience with traffic flagging
โ€ข Knowledge of the traffic control industry with prior traffic control or road construction experience
โ€ข Excellent attendance required, dependable transportation, good work ethic
โ€ข Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record
โ€ข Successfully pass a background/ drug screen and meet Federal DOT requirements
โ€ข Awareness of the occupational hazards associated with roadway work
โ€ข Ability to be a vital part of our TEAM
โ€ข Responsibility for performing tasks individually when required
โ€ข General maintenance and repair to work related equipment and vehicle
โ€ข Must be able to stand for long periods of time
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข Certification (from ATSSA) as a Flagger is preferred
โ€ข Flagger: 1 year of experience (Preferred)
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This position will be based in Sparks, Nevada.
โ€ข Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; moving equipment and machinery parts; moving traffic, and fumes and airborne particles
โ€ข Dealing with traveling public effectively
โ€ข Noise level of the work environment is usually moderate/loud
