Field Technician – Construction Materials Testing
Youngstown, Ohio | Full Time

Are you a Field Technician who prefers being on active job sites, working hands-on with real materials, and contributing directly to construction quality (not stuck behind a desk)? This is a full-time, in-person role supporting commercial and infrastructure projects across Ohio with a well-established geotechnical and materials testing firm.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Field Technician to perform construction materials testing and inspection on active job sites. This is a hands-on role focused on field observations, sampling, and testing — ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field and wants a clear growth path through certifications and experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform field sampling and testing of:
    • Soils
    • Aggregates
    • Asphalt concrete
    • Concrete during placement
  • Conduct field inspections per project specifications and drawings
  • Accurately document and record field data and test results
  • Prepare and submit clear, organized field reports
  • Track daily installed construction quantities
  • Communicate with contractors, owner representatives, and internal teams
  • Maintain assigned testing equipment and vehicles
  • Follow all jobsite safety and public health requirements
What We’re Looking For
  • 2+ years of construction materials testing experience
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Level I (required)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Comfortable working outdoors on active construction sites
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to job location
Preferred (Nice to Have):
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification
  • Additional certifications (ICC, NICET)
