Job description

Local Delivery Driver

Drivers will be responsible for facilitating local deliveries primarily to customers.

Essential Functions:
  • Preforms pre and post trip inspections on Company truck.
  • Checks fluids, adds fuel to vehicles as needed.
  • Delivers local orders in Company truck to customers on daily route assigned by dispatch. Deliveries are made to business, residential and construction sites.
  • Confirms delivery times with customers and exhibits excellent customer service.
  • Stages ordered items at end of truck for customer to off load, assist with unloading of plant material when safe to do so.
  • General care for the nursery grounds, keeping the nursery clean, organized, and safe for employees, customers, and vendors.
  • General care for nursery stock (plants), ensures plants are watered, handled with care, and are placed in the appropriate location.
Additional Tasks:
  • Performs minor repairs and maintenance on vehicles if needed.
  • Assists loading department with loading customer orders onto company delivery trucks.
  • May assist in other nursery departments as needed.
  • Duties are subject to change at any time per management's discretion.
Job Specifications:

Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions on uneven ground surfaces. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) more than 50-90% of the time. Frequent twisting, turning, and bending at the waist will be required.

Lifting requirements: Up to 50 lbs. 25% of the time. Up to 100 lbs. 15% of the time (team lift required).

Hand movement: Gross grasping for moving plant material. Operation of delivery truck 50-80% of the time.

All drivers must have a valid driver's license and qualify to be insured by our auto insurance carrier. Additional driving eligibility requirements are listed in our Fleet Policy.
