What you can expect to be doing:

Haley Ward is looking for an MEP Project Engineer/Manager for our Portland, ME office. The Project Engineer/Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, designing, and controlling the activities of projects to best accomplish the successful completion while operating within established schedules, budgets, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) policy constraints. Typical projects will entail Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineering with an emphasis on commercial building construction.

  • Oversee and manage project proposal development through planning, schematic design, design develop, construction documents, bidding, and construction.
  • Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing work of engineers, technicians, and designers.
  • Managing projects, overseeing, and delegating tasks, and engaging in design of projects.
  • Design projects from concept to substantial completion.
  • Promotes new business for the total company and for own area of expertise.
  • Preparing agreements including scope, schedule, work plan, fees and monitors financial performance of projects.
  • Cultivating personal business relationships and seeking opportunities for cross-selling to enhance and expand existing client relationships during and after projects.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Must have Professional Engineer License.
  • Minimum of 8 years in the consulting industry developing and managing MEP projects from design through closeout.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and development of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans and specifications.
  • Proficient in REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in using Trane Trace 3D plus for determining heat loads, cooling loads, and energy modeling.
  • Effective manager of people with the ability to inspire, communicate, support, and mentor.
  • Strong ability to identify and navigate applicable codes, regulations, standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The estimated range for this role is: $110,426 to $126,567. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, credentials, skills, and demonstrated proficiency for the role. Compensation is reviewed at least annually each year. Compensation is also adjusted throughout the year to recognize position advancement, responsibilities and licensure and/or certification.
