Location: Southeast Atlanta, GA (Hybrid: 1โ€“2 days remote after training)
Are you a detail-oriented construction professional with a strong mechanical aptitude? A leading contractor is seeking a Construction Assistant Project Manager to support complex, high-value mechanical projects from initial pre-construction through final commissioning.
Core Responsibilities
  • Engineering & Coordination: Partner with engineering teams on multi-trade coordination, shop drawing reviews, and system start-ups.
  • Cost & Procurement: Prepare detailed estimates, manage project budgets, issue change orders, and handle subcontractor/equipment procurement.
  • Planning & Field Support: Develop multi-trade project schedules, direct field crews, and manage quality and safety compliance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key liaison between General Contractors, Owners, and design partners while mentoring junior project staff.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 2โ€“8 years of overall construction industry experience, including 1+ years as a Project Coordinator, APM, or PM.
  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business (or 5+ years of hands-on mechanical, HVAC, or piping experience).
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read MEP, architectural, and structural drawings; proficient in construction software and MS Office.
  • Background: Proven leadership, strong problem-solving skills, and deep commitment to jobsite safety. Mechanical project exposure is preferred.
